2. Look for the "arrow" mark on the hand pump's surface and keep it pointing downward while pumping.
3. Ensure that the fitting end of the tube is submerged in the fluid, not just on the surface.
4. If you are extracting oil from a car's fuel tank, make sure there is no anti-pumping filter inside.
